Conditions such as motor neurone disease (MND), Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis (MS) and dementia can gradually change how a person speaks, communicates and swallows. Speech To You supports adults living with these conditions across Melbourne, helping them stay connected and eat and drink as safely as possible as their needs change.
With progressive conditions, planning early makes a real difference. That can mean introducing augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) while it is easier to learn, recording important words or phrases, and setting up mealtime plans before problems become urgent. See AAC and swallowing and mealtime support.
We work alongside families, support workers, dietitians, occupational therapists and medical teams, so everyone supporting the person has the same plan. Appointments happen at home or in the community, which means less travel and therapy that fits real life.
We support people aged 15 and over who are funded through the NDIS or My Aged Care (Support at Home). [to confirm: NDIS plan types accepted, and whether private clients are seen]

Early on is best, even before big changes, so communication and swallowing can be planned ahead and AAC introduced while it is easier to learn.
